Nightmare on Elm Street Movie Review
A Nightmare on Elm Street, directed by Wes Craven,is one of the greatest slashers of the 1980s and of all time. Robert Englund plays Freddy Krueger, a serial killer of children who is burned alive by the townspeople of Springwood. Seeking revenge, the horribly scarred Krueger haunts and murders their teenage children in their sleep using a make shift claw. However, one teen, Nancy (Heather Langenkanp) decides to fight back. It's a constant struggle between good and evil that has spawned numerous sequels and a T.V show; as, well, as, more than a few inferior slasher knock-offs.
The 1980s spawned numerous slashers, some good and some bad, but they are always fun to watch. I have a fondness for this movie because as a child of the 80s I was raised with these movies and would watch them as a child. Oh, the nightmares that I had!
