The premises of the movie, taken from the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, is of a man who lives his life backward from being born a wizen old man to old age with the body of a youngster. The story line has a certain fascination for all of us as we age. There is sadness in living through life from either direction with the limits of time and life as we live it. It makes for a long movie but the time is needed to tell the complete story. I found it a very satisfying but sad story. The movie was well done and reinstated my faith that good movies are being made in the face of much evidence to the contrary. Brad Pitt does a great job with the lead role and Cate Blanchett is excellent as the life long love interest. The make up is superb and greatly adds to the performance by both. The movie premise and story line is very much enhanced by the back ground whether it be the excellent scene setting with the period setting of the 1930's or the music of the Beatles. It is all used to support and enhance the placement in time for the audience. I very much enjoyed and recommend this movie.

I enjoyed this movie too. The acting by the main characters was superb and the makeup was phenomenal. Though the plot is unique and even quite touching, it was well worth seeing.
