This is a complex psycho drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio. He does a very good and convincing job in the role of the detective sent to investigate the disappearance of a female patient from a high security mental hospital known as Shutter Island.

In this and other recent roles DiCaprio has proven himself to be an excellent actor capable of carrying the weight of a movie based completely on what he believes, sees, hears or thinks. The conflict within him is very convincing and makes the movie believable. Up to the last you continue to weigh the evidence for his reality and his alternate reality.

A good movie but kind of intense at times.
