Untouchables Movie Review
This 1987 movie directed by Brian Depalma and staring Kevin Costner does a very good job of telling the story of how Elliott Ness fought to bring down the Chicago crime boss Al Capone.
Costner does a good job in the role of Ness and is credible as a crime fighter who gradually accepts the personal challenge of the job of bringing down Capone. Sean Connery is excellent as Malone, the clean Irish cop who asks, how far will you go to win this war?
The story told from the perspective of Ness is both uplifting and entertaining. The acting is very good and the overall feel of the movie does a good job of recreating what we would like to believe the 1930's in Chicago were like.
Good entertainment but probably a bit of a white wash for social history.
