Richard Dreyfus and Emilio Estevez are very good as two sometimes over zealous but not bumbling cops who are assigned to stake out the former girl friend of an escaped murderer, played very appealing by Madeleine Stowe.

This is both a comedy and a drama. The drama makes a good and credible story. The comedy is funny without being so over board that it makes the story unbelievable. Some of the comedic situations are a stretch but they are well done and add humor without silliness.

A good movie to enjoy without too much thought or effort.
