Driving Miss Daisy Movie Review
Once in a while you see a movie that touches your heart and touches your soul. There are no special effects- no fast pace drama but you enjoy it and want to see it again.
Driving Miss Daisy starring Jessica Tandy, Morgan Freeman and Dan Akroyd is an excellent example of such a film- full of friendship, loyalty and trust.
Jessica Tandy is a wealthy southern widowed woman from Georgia with a doting son Dan Akroyd. Her son is concerned about his mother's safety while driving so he hires Morgan Freeman to be her chauffeur. His mother is very independent and is strongly opposed to the decision.
The movie spans about 30 years and we the viewer are presented with the racial and religious prejudices of the time but over the years, we see the friendship between "Hoke" and mamma develop and deepen.
This movie won Best Picture of the Year in 1989. It certainly deserved it
