Driving Miss Daisy Movie Review
Jessica Tandy, Morgan Freeman, and Dan Aykroyd show us that great acting can make a great movie from a story line with no great drama or great action scenes.
Jessica Tandy is Miss Daisy, the widow who needs but does not want a chauffeur because she fears for her independence. Dan Aykroyd is the caring son with the foresight to hire Morgan Freeman, as Hoke to fill the role of chauffeur and then over the years expand that to include the role of friend.
Coincident to this story of individuals living and caring about each other is some insight into the story of race relations and change in the south over a 30 year period. The slow pace of the change is reflected in the slow pace of the movie but the strengths of the relationships created add promise of strength to the change in society.
