This is a break out role for Sandra Bullock. She owns the role of Leigh Anne Tuohy who accepts a young but huge black boy and takes him into her home and into her family and cares for him and helps him make a life.

This is based on the true story of Michael Oher who was homeless but a wonderful athlete who was recruited and accepted into a private school in Memphis. His mother was a drug addict and his siblings scattered. With no home or other support, his future was bleak. Leigh Anne Tuohy, played wonderfully by Sandra Bullock and her husband Sean Tuohy, well played by Tim McGraw took the young man into their home and paid for his education etc. Michael Oher, played by Aaron Quinton, was snatched from the ghetto and provided a home and education and proved he could succeed in life and in football with the support of a family that cared about him and provided for him.

This is a feel good movie that gives Sandra Bullock to prove that she is an actor. If she can build on this we may learn to forget about all the silly roles she accepted in the light weight poorly written movies in the past.
