Morgan Freeman is Nelson Mandela in this movie about the 1995 Rugby Team from South Africa and how Mandela used and emphasized this national team to bring together a nation in spite of racial and historical divides. Mandela himself said Freeman was the only actor who could play him in the movie. Freeman is perfect for the role and does a wonderful job. It is easy to believe he is Mandela and it is easy to believe in Mandela through Freeman.

Matt Damon is also excellent in a supporting role as the white Rugby Team Captain encouraged by Mandela to motive this team to represent the hopes and aspirations of a divided nation that amazingly came together despite racial and political hatred and fear to support a Rugby team.

The movie is likely to nominated for Best Picture and Freeman is sure to be nominated for Best Actor when the Academy Awards are determined. Clint Eastwood should be on the list for Best Director proving once again how the experience of a long life time in movies can be shared as a legacy by creating wonderful movies that will last for decades.
