Micah and Katie are a young couple living together in San Diego.  Micah works as a day trader and Katie is studying to be an English major.  From the outside they seem like a normal couple, except for the fact that a demon is trying to possess the body of Katie.  Skeptical Micah sets up home video equipment in their apartment to try to disprove any theory of potential demonic possession.  However, he soon finds out that there is much more than meets the eye.

Paranormal Activity has very little special effects and very little makeup. It was was shot entirely by hand held digital video, which gives it a realistic feel, and was done on around a 15,000 dollar budget.  It relies on story and acting and is one of the creepiest and scariest horror movies I've seen in a long time.  It's amazing what one can do with a simple idea and a low budget.  WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
