One of the most emotional, well acted movie is The Defiant Ones starring acting giants Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier.

Tony and Sidney are two convicts joined together by a iron chain who, during an auto accident manage to get away.  Pursued by dogs and a posse ,the two learn they must work together to get to freedom even though disagree on everything and they despise each other.

Released in 1958, and set in the south, this movie is an excellent example of the racial hatred and the prejudice prevalent in the United States at the time.

The movie should be watched, not only for the racial lessons but also for the superb acting by both Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier.

This is one of the movies that proves that some of the older ones are the best
