Jesse Stone's Night Passage is one of several enjoyable movies based on the books by Robert Parker that is worth seeing,

Jesse Stone(Tom Selleck) is a police chief who moves from California to Massachusettes to replace one who is retiring.  Soon after he takes over the position he is involved in a domestic dispute and the death of the former police chief that he knows are connected.

Jesse uses his acute detective skills to solve the case and win the hearts of the small town.

There weren't many special effects in the movie but the acting, plot and suspense kept one's attention.

Tom Selleck does a good job as Jesse Stone and I intend to see other movies
