Below Expectations

Two For The Money was a disappointing movie- though good, it did not live up to the expectations I had in mind considering big stars such as Al Pacino, Rene Russo and Matthew McConaughey. Matthew plays the role of Brandon Lang, a former big time football player who was forced to give it up due to an injury. Brandon has a natural knack for picking the winners and soon finds himself being called to New York to work for Walter Adams(Pacino)and get involved in the world of big time sports betting. Brandon at first loves the fame and fortune this brings but soon dislikes being beholding to or being "owned" by Pacino and struggles with his future actions. The movie does a good job showing the power of gambling and the wealth and power it brings but seems to fall a little short at the end when Matthew is going through his identity crisis. Good acting by Matthew, Pacino and Rene Russo(Pacino's wife) Sports people will particularly enjoy this
