Sylvester Stallone is John Rambo again. The question is has Stallone become just another greedy Hollywood businessmen making sequels to hit movies until the hit runs out or has he become a symbol of an American viewpoint. All of the Rambo movies are political. They are also repetitive and each one is a lower quality movie than the previous one.

In this film, John Rambo, played of course by Stallone, is living in Thailand and trying to find peace( and doing a little stick fighting to keep in shape). He is visited by Colonel Trautman, played again by Richard Crenna, with a request to assist with a mission into Afghanistan to supply weapons to the rebels, the Mujahideen. Rambo refuses to go as it is not his war.

Trautman proceeds with the mission and is captured by the enemy and imprisoned in a Soviet military base. Rambo agrees this time to go to Afghanistan to try and rescue his friend. After an initial failed attempt Rambo is successful in getting Colonel Trautman out just before he is blow torched by his captors.

As they are about to escape with the rebels they are confronted by a huge Soviet army complete with helicopters, tanks and infantry. They are about to be destroyed when the rebel army literally rides to the rescue in an old fashioned cavalry charge. Rambo succeeds in destroying the Soviet bad guy using a captured tank to destroy the attack helicopter. Not credible but dramatic.

The action sequences are fun to watch. If you do not like action sequences, there is nothing to watch.
