People who want a good movie to watch with a great storyline, great acting and directing should see the recently released movie Public Enemies directed by Michael Mann. The movie relates the story of the American gangsters in the early 1930's and the role the FBI had in trying to put a stop to their crime wave. The movie focuses on the notorious gangster John Dillinger, superbly portrayed by Johnny Depp, but also features other famous gangsters such as Baby face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd. Michael Mann is to be commended for making the story so realistic. The early 1930's fashion, cars, home furnishings etc. were an intregal part of the story as were the actions of the gangsters( robbing banks but not taking money from the common man) as well as the brutality inflicted on Dillinger's girlfriend. The acting by everyone was superb and very believable- Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis(pursuing Dillinger) and Johnny Depp were outstanding An oscar will be awarded to this one- particularly to Depp
