A delightful musical, Hairspray is set in Baltimore a few generations back and is about a girl named Tracy who has her heart set on becoming a contestant on a television dance show. Tracy and her friend are obsessed with the show and skip school one day to audition. She's turned down by one of the manager's (Michelle Pfeiffer) but refuses to give up and decides with the help of some friends to keep fighting for everyone's rights. One of the best parts of the movie is the sterling performance by John Travolta as Tracy's MOTHER. Another unusual role is Christopher Walken who plays Tracy's father. This movie is purely for fun- it's a kick off the shoes, sit back and relax movie or stand up and start dancing to the music movie. Enjoy
