While Pixar is by this point in time famous for being able to turn out classic animated cinema with incredible regularity, in my opinion, nothing has yet reached the same artistic level as "Wall-E."  Many of Pixar's movies are prime examples of animated films, but for a variety of different reasons, and none of which because of their inherent artistic quality.  "Toy Story" should be renowned for its sheer technical achievement, "Finding Nemo" for striking the perfect equilibrium between a fun kids movie and a fun movie for adults, and "Toy Story 2" for being the best movie to ever be cut out of the Pixar plot structure.  "Wall-E" has proved itself to be the apex of Pixar's artistic vision, both in its willingness to address current issues and a capability of embracing classic film techniques.  To create a movie which was at least outwardly a "kids" movie that features little to no dialogue for the first 40 minutes or so is a truly daring thing.  Along with the dystopic and brilliantly crafted visuals, "Wall-E" is an undeniable artistic achievement.  I also give Pixar unending credit for creating a believable and intriguing love story between two robots, beings who are only outwardly capable of expressing a small range of emotions.  The endless spew of banal romantic comedies could take some serious cues from the simple techniques of gestures and silence which were virtual requirements for the characters in "Wall-E" to express a full range of emotion.  These simplistic techniques prove to be monumentally effective, and "Wall-E" employs them to pull at the audience's heartstrings at all the key moments.  Overall, "Wall-E" is one of Pixar's best films, quite possibly the best animated film of the past decade, and a movie that I am happy to watch over and over again.
