Halloween is an ideal time to watch this movie. I originally saw this on television and then ordered a copy so I could have my own. I believe they remade the movie a few years ago but the older 1950's movie is by far the best.

This black and white movie set in California, is a very suspenseful story about a doctor who is visited by patients who try to convince him that their relatives are not the same- physically they're the same person but mentally they're different. People in the community start seeing "pods" and they finally realize that creatures from beyond are taking over people's bodies while they sleep.

Even though the plot seems a little far fetched it is an example of a Alfred Hitchcock style, twisting plot, surprising events video that will have you on the edge of your seat and prove that a good horror movie does NOT need a lot of special effects. This is accomplished through excellent acting and a good plot
