I've never seent the original hairspray but this version was fantastic. I am a sucker for musicals so I might be slightly biased. 

I also loved Zac Efron in this movie. Amazing!

I love the lesson in this movie as well. It shows that the "beautiful, cheerleader, popular girl" doesn't always win. They aren't always the best fit for who you are.
