A little too strange to strike the right tone for Batman, this one definitely comes close to doing the Dark Knight justice. The Penguin was a pretty lame villain, though Catwoman picked up a little slack in that area, and Tim Burton's sets for a dingy, dark, and gothic Gotham City are really excellent. Probably the best of the non-Christian Bale Batman movies. This one captures the dark and creepy tone of Batman and Gotham City better than the current series has, but ultimately goes a little too far in that regard.
