Coraline is not your standard animated movie.  The 3D filming of the claymation gives a surrealistic creepy too-real quality to the film that only makes the movie's slightly off-center plot a little more disturbing.

The plot is good, and the movie is nothing like you'd expect from a normal kid's movie.  It's definitely a Tim Burton Film, only more so because it was written by Neil Gaiman, which just adds to the abnormal nature of the film.

The only thing I would caution is taking children who are too young, say under 6 or 7 to the film as it may be a little creepy to them.  But for older children and definitely adults, I recommend.
